Spring
First week of the Spring term! Professors, modules and my timetable are amazing! Professor Robert Armstrong for Business and Professional Communication. He’s so funny and the lessons are so interesting. My motivation to wake up at an ungodly time in the morning, squeeze into the bus / cab pool with random strangers and arrive in lesson in style.. not disheveled. I hope I can take his advertising / journalism / promotional writing classes please!!! Dr Samuel Wong for Music and Society. Influential figure in the music circle (performed solo during NDP09, his books are for A Levels music etc) and he knows everything it amazes me! He’s so different and so creative I wished his lessons lasted for 5 hours or something. Not to mention he’s so, so hilarious with his diva attitude. It’s really learning and laughing at the same time. Want to take his arts management class! Dropping Dr Kenton Anderson’s mass media effects class unfortunately, I reckon he’s good. Maybe next time! Don’t want to stretch myself too thin. The other two modules should be okay I guess, written communication honestly is a bit of a bore I glazed over my notes and syllabus but I suppose the small cozy class size will save it.
So that’s the summary of my current academic happiness! There’s a little thing (or not so little) that’s nagging at me but I’ll do it well and with flourish and I’ll enjoy the ride and destination! I’ve been through so much in 2011 but the bright side of it is that it translates into some parts wisdom some parts strength. New year resolutions (first in years) are going well! Now for my sudden bout of mini sickness to heal (too much talking, walking and exertion this afternoon I suspect) and its time for laughter, bak kwa, food, adorable kids and observations of extended family dynamics for Chinese New Year!
