Jan 2, 2012

1 note
The first few moments of 2012 in another land, where half of my family are. Standing in the windy night, quietly appreciating the fleeting yet stunning beauty of the fireworks that were all around. At some moments, it seemed as though there were exploding stars falling onto us. Sparks were still flying off at 3am — explosions, trumpets and fireworks that went “wheeeeeee” forming the lullaby to my sleep. It was an absolutely brilliant half a month spent in different cities, with different parts of my family; the trip culminated in Jakarta where there was a huge reunion (not seen since 2000) on New Year’s eve. I’ve already left my heart there.
